LET’S GET COOKING

Method

  1. Lay the first pastry sheet on a baking tray with its baking paper. Prick it with a fork.

  2. Spread the ham and Asiago over the pastry, leaving the edge clear. Prick the second sheet, lay it on top and seal the edges.

  3. Place an upturned cup in the centre. Cut the petals from the edge of the cup outwards, leaving the centre intact.

  4. Gently twist each petal through two full turns without detaching it. Remove the cup before baking.

  5. Bake the whole sunflower in a preheated oven at 200 °C for about 20 minutes. Check that the underside is cooked too, and bake longer if the pastry is still damp.

  6. Let it settle briefly before moving it to a serving plate.
